Travel from Tijuana and San Diego
TRAVELING BY PLANE:
You can visit Tijuana and arrive by plane to either of these two airports – Tijuana-General Abelardo L. Rodtríguez International Airport and San Diego International Airport.
General Abelardo L. Rodtríguez International Airport is located 6 km east of downtown Tijuana and the San Ysidro border. It is also 1.6 km west of another border crossing – Otay. On the other hand, the San Diego International, is 15 miles north of the border. Most travelers make it a transit point to go to Tijuana and continue southward from the US.
From the airport, your journey continues by land towords your destination through rented cars, taxis, bus and trolleys. Taxis and rented cars can be booked online for convenience and can take you directly to the border. Yellow taxis charge USD$5 while white & orange ones cost USD$3 to get to downtown Tijuana.
TRAVELING BY LAND:
Most tourists enter this city through the US-Mexico border at San Ysidro, one of the busiest border crossings in the world. The crossing can be accessibly made by bus, car, or on foot.
